About this fabric

Narrow botanical and geometric bands alternate across a warm cream ground in this Forest/Madder colourway. Forest green supplies the deepest tone, while madder red adds a softened, clay-like warmth rather than a bright contrast; olive and brown details enrich the stripe. At 510gsm, the fabric has a substantial handle suited to upholstery, with a 135cm usable width. The pattern repeats every 38cm vertically and 67.3cm horizontally, helping with stripe placement and matching. A specification of 199 threads per centimetre reflects the closely constructed appearance visible in the swatch.

How to use it

Use the deep forest tone on a statement chair, sofa or upholstered bench, balancing the madder accents with warm ivory, aged timber and muted olive. The ordered vertical stripe also works well on tailored upholstery where its alternating bands can remain clearly visible.

Use this substantial forest-and-madder stripe on a statement armchair, sofa or dining seat against warm neutrals and natural timber.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Bloomsbury Stripe Forest/Madder without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
