About this fabric

This Morris & Co. textile combines deep indigo, softer blue and dark patterned lines against a pale ivory background, creating more depth than a simple two-colour stripe. The narrow vertical bands are punctuated by small geometric marks, while the 22.4 cm horizontal repeat keeps the design measured across the width. At 480 gsm and 101 threads per centimetre, it has a substantial, closely made handle suited to upholstery. The usable width is 135 cm, with a 4 cm vertical repeat and a standard 30 m length.

How to use it

Use this cool indigo-and-ivory colourway on a buttoned chair, headboard or tailored sofa where its vertical rhythm can remain visible. Balance the blue with chalky walls, aged timber and warm neutral linens rather than sharper white.

Pair the cool indigo stripes with warm ivory, natural wood and tailored upholstery for a crisp, quietly traditional scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Dallington Stripe Indigo without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
