St Andrew - Claret

Misc Fabric

St Andrew - Claret is a richly coloured woven check with a deep claret-red ground and a softly brushed, irregular surface. Darker intersecting lines form broad windowpane squares, while warm muted flecks add depth to the red.

About this fabric

The fabric has a visibly substantial, hairy weave, making it read as an upholstery-suitable textile rather than a fine, fluid cloth. Its claret ground is deep and warm, with darker brown-charcoal lines and scattered ochre and muted green threads breaking up the colour. The supplied record gives no composition, width, rub test or performance features for this fabric, so those specifications are not claimed here.

How to use it

Use this deep claret colourway on a chair, footstool or compact sofa where its softly rugged texture can be seen close up. Balance the saturated red with dark wood, aged leather, charcoal or warm neutral walls.

Pair the deep claret ground with aged timber, charcoal or warm brass for a richly textured, informal interior.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
