Ariani in Celesta is a richly textured small-scale geometric fabric with a mosaic-like surface in muted sage, stone, rust and ochre. The colourway feels earthy and intricate, with the pattern reading almost like a finely weathered lattice.

About this fabric

Ariani (F8076) is a substantial woven fabric, 145cm wide, with a 45,000 rub test and a weight of 496gsm, making it a strong candidate for upholstery. The visible ground is a softened grey-beige, lifted by mottled sage green, warm rust, olive and small notes of ochre that give the surface a timeworn, layered effect. Its 59% polyester, 37% viscose and 4% linen composition helps explain the crisp structure and slightly slubby, tactile look seen in the weave. The small repeat of 2cm gives the geometric motif a tight, rhythmic feel rather than a bold statement pattern.

How to use it

Use Ariani on a compact armchair, ottoman or banquette where its small-scale pattern can be appreciated up close. The muted, earthy colours pair well with oak, aged brass and chalky neutrals for a grounded, tailored scheme.

A busy, textural palette that suits tailored upholstery and adds quiet depth to compact seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
