Charnwood Terracotta

Oakham Weaves FabricSCF0127-01

Charnwood Terracotta combines warm, muted terracotta with pale blue-grey and creamy vertical and horizontal lines. The close-set woven grid gives the swatch a softly tailored appearance, with the terracotta providing depth rather than high saturation.

About this fabric

This small-scale design is formed from narrow vertical and horizontal bands, creating a compact check over a light cream ground. Terracotta lines lead the colour story, while pale blue-grey accents cool the weave slightly and stop the overall effect from feeling overly rustic. At 594gsm, with 44 threads per centimetre, the cloth has a substantial, closely woven handle suited to upholstery. Its 143cm usable width, 7.5cm vertical repeat and 4cm horizontal repeat make the pattern relatively easy to position across upholstered forms.

How to use it

Use Charnwood Terracotta on a buttoned chair, bench or compact sofa where its warm clay tone can sit alongside cream, oak and blue-grey accents. The small check also works well as a structured contrast to plain linen-look curtains or larger-scale patterns.

Use this warm terracotta check to bring structured colour and a tailored woven texture to upholstery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Charnwood Terracotta without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
