About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from A Celebration of the National Trust has a usable width of 130 cm and a substantial 364 gsm weight, which gives the cloth enough body for upholstery-led use. The design is a repeated botanical trail with a 48 cm vertical repeat and 43.3 cm horizontal repeat, and the small leaf forms are drawn in a muted steel blue that feels cool rather than bright. Against the linen-coloured ground, the foliage also picks up soft beige, grey and ochre tones, so the overall effect is calm and natural. At 37.2 threads per cm, the weave reads as closely made and neatly detailed, supporting the crisp outline of the leaf shapes.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a pair of armchairs, a bench cushion or a covered ottoman where its cool blue leaves can soften a room without feeling heavy. It sits especially well with pale oak, chalk paint and other linen-toned textiles.
