Porter & Stone

Shimla Cornflower

What's New Fabric

Shimla Cornflower has a clean, airy look, with slender dark branches carrying small blue leaves over a pale ground. The cornflower shades read fresh and slightly cool, giving the pattern a light, open feel.

About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric is a 140cm-wide textile in 82% polyester, 11% cotton and 7% linen, with a 15.5cm vertical repeat and 19.5cm horizontal repeat. In this colourway, the leaf trail is drawn in mixed cornflower and powdery sky blues, while the stems sit in a darker line that sharpens the outline of each motif. The pale ground keeps the design bright rather than dense, so the overall effect is crisp and easy to live with. With no performance features noted and care code NQT1< supplied, it is a decorative woven that feels equally suited to softer furnishing schemes and lighter upholstery use.

How to use it

Use it to bring a cool blue accent into a room with white-painted woodwork, bleached timber, or pale grey walls. It would also lift a relaxed scheme when paired with linen plains, ticking stripes, or natural jute textures.

A fresh blue leaf trail that works neatly on blinds, cushions, or occasional upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
