About this fabric

This Sanderson Country House Fabrics print has a usable width of 137 cm, a generous 126 cm vertical repeat and a matching 137 cm horizontal repeat, so the trailing branches can be positioned with impact across larger pieces. At 300 gsm it has enough substance for upholstery, while the 19.5 threads per cm keep the surface looking crisp rather than heavy. The cream ground softens the strong indigo leaves and ruby-red flowers, and the tiny birds and blossoms add to the garden-scene character without making the palette feel busy. The overall effect is decorative and confident, with the blue-green foliage providing cool contrast against the warmer red and pink notes.

How to use it

Use it on an occasional chair, dining seat or upholstered headboard where the large floral repeat can be shown off. It works especially well with painted timber, aged brass and plain linens in chalk, stone or soft blue.

Pair with quiet neutrals to let the indigo leaves and ruby blooms stand out.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
