About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet from the Dorton Velvets collection has a smooth, dense pile and a quietly even finish that suits tailored seating. At 405gsm with a usable width of 148 cm, it has the substance expected of an upholstery velvet, while the 102 threads per cm specification points to a tightly constructed cloth. The swatch shows a dark grey tone with a slight metallic cast in the pile, giving the colourway a cool, versatile feel. With no pattern repeat to interrupt the surface, the emphasis stays on the tonal depth and the way light softens across the velvet face.

How to use it

Use this gunmetal shade on a sofa, ottoman or dining chair where you want a strong neutral with a tailored edge. It works especially well with pale stone, black accents and warm brass to lift the cool grey.
