About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet has a plain face with no visible repeat, allowing the colour and pile to do the work. At 405 gsm and with 102 threads per cm, it reads as a substantial cloth with the body expected of a serious upholstery velvet. The usable width is 148 cm, and the standard length is 40 m. In this colourway, the red sits firmly on the mahogany side of the spectrum: warm, dark and slightly brown, with a muted lustre rather than a bright shine.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, sofa or ottoman where the deep mahogany tone can anchor a room without feeling stark. It pairs especially well with aged brass, walnut and soft neutrals, where the velvet’s warmth can come through.
