About this fabric

This plain velvet has a fine, even surface with a gentle sheen that catches the light without looking glossy, giving the oatmeal colour a quiet depth. At 405 gsm and with 102 threads per cm, it has the substantial handle expected of an upholstery velvet, while the 148 cm usable width makes it practical for larger furniture projects. The colour sits between beige and muted sand, with enough warmth to feel inviting but not so much that it turns yellow. With no pattern repeat, the fabric presents as a clean, continuous field of colour, ideal when the texture itself is the feature.

How to use it

Use this oatmeal tone on a sofa or upholstered armchair to soften darker timbers and stone finishes. It also works well in layered neutral schemes where a warm beige velvet needs to feel polished rather than stark.

A soft, versatile neutral that gives furniture a calm, tailored finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
