Owlswick Briarwood

Elysian Fabrics FabricSAF0267-02

Owlswick in Briarwood has a soft, warm beige ground that lets the woodland motif sit gently rather than shout. The owls, pine fronds and cones read in earthy browns, sage greens and touches of faded terracotta across the cloth.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Elysian Fabrics collection is a substantial 252gsm cloth with a usable width of 140 cm, so it has enough body to work neatly for either curtains or light upholstery. The design carries a striking 88 cm vertical repeat and a full 140 cm horizontal repeat, which suits a large-scale scenic layout like the owls and pine branches shown here. In this Briarwood colourway, the cream-beige ground feels mellow and slightly weathered, while the motif is drawn in restrained woodland tones that stay soft rather than high-contrast. The overall effect is calm and natural, with enough pattern depth to add interest without darkening a room.

How to use it

Use Briarwood where you want a country-house feel without heavy colour: it works well with pale oak, rattan and olive accents. The warm beige ground also gives it a gentle balance against deeper greens or tobacco-toned woods.

Pair with aged oak and muted greens for a softly woodland scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
