About this fabric

Dorton Forest from Sanderson’s Dorton Velvets collection is a velvet with a substantial 405 gsm weight and a usable width of 148 cm, making it well suited to upholstery. The image shows a plain, unpatterned surface with a dense pile that absorbs light into a deep green base rather than reflecting a bright shine. Its tone sits firmly in the cooler, darker end of green, with a forest-like depth that feels elegant rather than vivid. With no vertical or horizontal pattern repeat, it is straightforward to cut and ideal for large upholstered pieces where the colour and texture do the work. The cloth’s 102 threads per cm specification supports the close, refined finish visible in the swatch.

How to use it
