Fernery Botanical Green/Charcoal

Glasshouse Fabrics FabricSAF0284-01

A dark charcoal ground gives Fernery Botanical Green/Charcoal a striking, almost evening-lit look, with layered fern fronds in fresh greens and pale highlights. The large-scale botanical repeat feels crisp and graphic rather than soft or painterly.

About this fabric

Fernery Botanical Green/Charcoal from Sanderson’s Glasshouse Fabrics collection is a printed textile with a useable width of 140 cm and a substantial 236 gsm weight. The design shows repeated fern forms in vivid leafy greens, pale lime accents and fine charcoal shadows, all set against a deep near-black background that pushes the motif forward. Its 89 cm vertical repeat and 91 cm horizontal repeat create a large, rhythmic layout that reads clearly across wide curtains or statement furniture. With 74 threads per cm, the cloth has a refined woven base that supports the sharp detail of the foliage pattern.

How to use it

This colourway works beautifully where you want greenery without brightness overload: think club chairs, cushions or full-length curtains against timber, brass or painted joinery. The charcoal ground keeps the palette smart and grounding, while the fresh fern tones bring a lively, natural contrast.

Use for statement curtains or tailored upholstery where the dark ground makes the fern motif stand out.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fernery Botanical Green/Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
