Fernery China Blue

Fernery China Blue shows a scattered fern design in layered shades of blue, with pale cream and beige touches that keep the overall effect light. The white ground gives the pattern room to breathe, so the leaves feel crisp rather than heavy.

About this fabric

This is a fabric, not wallpaper, with a usable width of 140 cm and a substantial 236 gsm weight, making it a versatile choice for either upholstery or drapery. The print shows vertical fern fronds in varied china blues, from airy pale aqua to deeper denim, with soft beige accents that add a little warmth to the cool palette. Its large 89 cm by 91 cm repeat creates a generous, rhythmic scale across the cloth, and the 74 threads per cm suggest a finely woven base that supports the detailed leaf work. The white background keeps the design feeling fresh and open, while the blue tones read clean and slightly botanical rather than vivid or nautical.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want a room to feel bright, tailored and botanical: it works well on relaxed curtains, a statement chair or cushioned bench. The cool china blue sits especially well with painted whites, pale oak and brushed brass.

A fresh fern motif in cool china blues, lifted by pale cream and beige details for an airy, polished look.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fernery China Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
