King Protea Orchid/Grey

Glasshouse Fabrics FabricSAF0290-01

King Protea Orchid/Grey brings a painterly profusion of protea blooms in soft orchid pink, blush and cream, set among cool grey-green foliage on a pale ground. The overall effect is fresh and airy, with a gentle botanical rhythm rather than a heavy floral feel.

About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric from the Glasshouse Fabrics collection is a textile with a usable width of 140 cm and a 63.5 cm vertical repeat, so the large-scale motif is designed to be seen as a full, flowing pattern. At 236 gsm and with 74 threads per cm, it reads as a substantial printed cloth rather than a flimsy decorative fabric. The visible colourway is distinctly cool and airy: orchid pink blooms are softened by white, blush and creamy petals, while the leaves carry a muted blue-grey and sage cast. That contrast gives the design a light, almost watercolour brightness without losing the definition of the large protea heads.

How to use it

This colourway works beautifully in rooms that need a fresh botanical lift, especially against painted whites, pale oak and soft grey upholstery. Use it for curtains, cushions or a feature chair where the orchid pink can glow without feeling overpowering.

Use on statement upholstery or elegant curtains where the soft orchid petals can stand out against the cool grey-green foliage.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside King Protea Orchid/Grey without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
