About this colour

This shade reads as a soft beige-cream with a clear yellow warmth, so it feels inviting without becoming overtly golden. On a wall it lifts light gently and keeps a room bright, but it does not bounce light as stark white would, which gives it a calmer presence. In north-facing rooms Mirin can look slightly deeper and more muted, showing more of its biscuit side, while in south-facing light it opens out and feels sunnier and more luminous. In Acrylic Eggshell, Elite Emulsion or True Matt, it works well on both walls and woodwork where a warm neutral is needed beside linen, oak, walnut or upholstered pieces in subdued greens, taupes or terracotta tones.

How to use it

Mirin suits sitting rooms, hallways and bedrooms where a pale, welcoming backdrop is needed. It pairs neatly with painted joinery, natural oak and upholstered furniture in warm neutral or earthy shades.
