About this fabric

The close-up shows a dense, lightly slubbed weave with fine horizontal and vertical yarns forming a restrained crosshatch texture. Its shale colouring is more softened green-grey than straightforward silver grey, giving the surface a calm, earthy depth without a pronounced pattern. At 370gsm, this is a substantial woven fabric suited to upholstery applications. It has a 137cm usable width, with no vertical or horizontal pattern repeat, allowing the plain texture to be handled efficiently across panels and upholstered forms.

How to use it

Use Amalfi Shale on an occasional chair, sofa or headboard where its cool green-grey tone can sit alongside chalky whites, weathered timber, stone and warm oak. Keep surrounding fabrics tonal to let the fine woven texture provide the visual interest.
