About this fabric

This Clarke & Clarke textile is 137cm wide and weighs 456gsm, giving the weave the substantial presence expected from an upholstery fabric. Rusty terracotta zigzags run across the pale cream base in a compact, rhythmic arrangement, while the irregular-looking woven texture gently breaks up the colour. The pattern has a 1.6cm vertical repeat and a 4.5cm horizontal repeat, keeping the chevrons lively without making them visually oversized. The warm spice tone reads muted and earthy against the light ground, with subtle tonal variation where the yarn catches the light.

How to use it

Use Gravity Spice on a window seat, dining chair or tailored armchair where its warm terracotta geometry can stand out against chalky walls, natural timber and softly aged neutrals. Its cream ground also makes it easy to coordinate with rust, clay and oatmeal accents.

Use the warm spice-and-cream contrast to bring geometric definition to upholstered seating, headboards or occasional chairs.
