Biot Marine

Biot FabricM4027-16

Biot Marine is a small-scale woven fabric with a cool, speckled marine-blue surface and a crisp, nubbly handle. The weave reads dense and neatly structured, with pale yarns lifting the darker blue into a lightly mottled finish.

About this fabric

Biot Marine from Manuel Canovas is a fabric with a compact woven structure and no visible repeat, since both vertical and horizontal repeats are listed as approximately 0cm. The 138cm approximate width and blend of 40% viscose, 30% linen, 26% cotton and 4% polyester suit a cloth that feels balanced rather than heavy. Visually, the colour sits between navy and slate, broken up by pale cream and blue yarns that give the surface a cool, stonewashed depth. The finish is crisp and textural, with enough movement in the weave to stop the shade from reading flat. It is an easy choice when you want a marine tone that feels refined rather than stark.

How to use it

Use it on compact upholstery, cushions or tailored blinds where the small woven texture can be seen up close. The muted marine palette pairs especially well with chalk white, pale oak and brushed nickel.

A cool, compact weave that works neatly on tailored upholstery or relaxed drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
