Fernanda Old Blue

Hailsham FabricF4873-02

Fernanda Old Blue shows a misty blue ground lifted by scrolling branches, peacocks and small floral motifs in pale ivory and warm gold. The overall effect is airy and refined, with the pattern reading clearly against the cool, softened background.

About this fabric

This Hailsham fabric is composed of 64% Linen, 25% Polyester and 11% Viscose, giving the cloth a natural-looking surface with a measured amount of structure. The swatch shows a muted blue ground that feels cool and powdery rather than vivid, which helps the ivory peacocks and trailing flowers stand out without harsh contrast. Warm beige-gold accents bring a little depth to the embroidery-like motif, softening the large repeat and giving it a classic Colefax and Fowler character. With an approximate width of 128cm and a repeat of V 77cm / H 64cm, it is well suited to statement furnishings where the design can be properly shown.

How to use it

Use this old blue colourway on a generous upholstered armchair, a stool or curtains in a room with limestone, oak or painted whitework. Its restrained blue tone works especially well with soft neutrals, antique brass and layered ivory textiles.

Pair with pale linens and warm wood for a quietly elegant scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fernanda Old Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
