Davey Navy is a calm, dark blue plain weave with a quietly speckled linen-cotton surface. The colour reads as a true navy rather than black, with a cool, tailored finish.

About this fabric

This colourway has a dense, even weave that softens the deep navy tone and gives the cloth a restrained matte appearance. Made from 58% linen and 42% cotton, it has the natural character of linen with a slightly smoother cotton balance, visible in the fine texture across the face. The plain design has no repeat in either direction, so the depth of colour and the woven grain do all the work visually. At 146cm wide, it is a versatile fabric for upholstery or drapery where a smart, grounded navy is wanted.

How to use it

Use Davey Navy on a sofa or armchair for a crisp, architectural look, or hang it as tailored curtains to frame a room with a darker, more atmospheric blue. It pairs neatly with oak, walnut, chalky whites and brushed brass.

A deep navy linen-cotton with enough body for upholstery and a clean enough handle for tailored curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
