Livingstone Blue

Hailsham FabricF4868-04

Livingstone Blue presents a cool, softly faded blue pattern scattered across a pale linen ground. The overall effect is airy and lightly textured, with the design reading more as a tonal haze than a bold motif.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, this Colefax and Fowler fabric has a natural, slightly dry handle that suits relaxed decorative use. The design has a small, abstract all-over repeat with a vertical repeat of approximately 24cm and a horizontal repeat of approximately 67cm, creating gentle wavy columns across the cloth. In Livingstone Blue, the motif feels crisp but muted, with powdery blue marks sitting over an ivory-beige base rather than a strong white ground. The 134cm approximate width gives good coverage for curtains, cushions or lighter upholstery pieces, and the √BM fire code is supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

The soft blue and chalky ground work well with white-painted joinery, weathered oak and brushed nickel, especially in calm bedrooms or sitting rooms. Use it on blinds, small upholstery pieces or drapery where the pale, cool tone can lift the room without dominating it.

Use it for tailored cushions or curtains where the pale blue ground can keep the room feeling fresh and refined.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Livingstone Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
