About this fabric
Woven in 100% silk and measuring approximately 138cm wide, Pamina Emperor Red has the refined handle and natural lustre expected of a decorative silk. The fabric is unpatterned, with a vertical and horizontal repeat of 0cm, so the interest comes from its fine texture and the way the light lifts across the weave. In this colourway, the red is deepened with a slightly terracotta warmth, giving it more depth than a clear scarlet and a softer, more upholstered feel in the hand. The surface shows gentle horizontal slubs and faint tonal movement, which help the shade look layered rather than flat. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this fabric.
How to use it
This emperor red works especially well in formal curtains, where the silk’s surface can catch daylight and evening light differently. It also adds a warm, disciplined note to pared-back interiors, especially against dark timber, pale stone or antique brass.
