Kanji Clay

Timo FabricL9413-01

Kanji Clay has a soft ivory ground scattered with small, irregular clay-toned flecks that read quietly organic. The linen-rich weave gives the surface a natural, lightly textured look with a relaxed drape in the photograph.

About this fabric

This colourway of Larsen’s Timo fabric is composed of 77% Linen, 18% Polyester and 5% Cotton, with a width of approximately 132cm and a vertical repeat of approximately 40cm and horizontal repeat of approximately 26cm. The visible finish is airy rather than heavy, with a softly open weave that lets the warm clay detailing sit lightly across the pale base. The motif is small-scale and dispersed, so the design feels calm from a distance and more speckled and textural close up. The overall impression is an understated cream with muted beige-clay accents, made softer by the linen content and suitable for schemes that need gentle pattern without visual weight.

How to use it

Use Kanji Clay where you want a pale, restful backdrop with a little warmth, such as relaxed curtains, cushions or occasional upholstery. Its ivory and clay palette pairs neatly with oak, pale plaster, taupe and other natural finishes.

The soft ivory ground and scattered clay marks give it an easy, understated warmth.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Kanji Clay without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
