Tokyo Clay

Tokyo FabricL9440-04

Tokyo Clay reads as a calm, understated neutral with a warm stone-and-clay cast. The cloth shows a fine, linear weave that keeps the surface looking soft and quietly textured rather than flat.

About this fabric

This colourway sits in a gentle cream-beige range with a dry, natural-looking handle visible in the weave. The 147cm approximate width gives good flexibility for both upholstery and drapery projects, while the 46% cotton, 29% viscose, 14% linen and 11% polyester blend suggests a balanced, practical cloth with some natural slub character. With no repeat required at approximately V 0cm / H 0cm, it presents as a simple plain, ideal where the texture and colour need to do the work. The light clay tone feels warmer than a stark ivory, making the fabric read relaxed and grounded rather than crisp or formal.

How to use it

Use Tokyo Clay on upholstered seating, cushions or a roman blind where you want a soft, earthy neutral that won’t dominate the room. It pairs especially well with pale timber, limestone, tobacco leather and muted green accents.

A softly muted neutral that works neatly across tailored upholstery and easy, understated curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
