Tokyo Mustard

Tokyo FabricL9440-09

Tokyo Mustard reads as a soft, sunlit mustard with a gently speckled, woven surface. The colour feels warm and muted rather than bright, with a fine textured grain that gives the cloth quiet depth.

About this fabric

This Tokyo colourway has a mellow mustard-yellow ground that sits somewhere between gold and ochre, softened by the visible slub of the weave. The cloth is composed of 46% cotton, 29% viscose, 14% linen and 11% polyester, and the 147cm approx width makes it practical for a wide range of schemes. With no pattern repeat to interrupt the surface, the texture itself becomes the feature, catching light in a restrained, matte-lustrous way. The overall effect is warm and tailored, with enough natural character to keep it from feeling flat.

How to use it

Use Tokyo Mustard on compact upholstery, cushions or a Roman blind where its warm tone can lift timber, walnut and darker painted finishes. It works especially well with oatmeal, clay and deep green accents for a grounded, contemporary look.

A warm mustard tone with a subtle linen-rich texture that layers easily into both tailored and relaxed schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
