Polly Stripe St Clements

Flori Fabric002

Polly Stripe St Clements brings a bright, optimistic feel, with a butter-yellow central stripe set against a soft cream ground and framed by delicate floral bands. The design reads fresh and airy in the photograph, with the linen texture keeping the colourway light rather than heavy.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, this fabric has the natural slub and relaxed handle you expect from a linen upholstery cloth, while the 30,000 Martindale rub test and General Domestic upholstery grade make it suitable for everyday fixed upholstery. The pattern shows a large vertical repeat of approximately 27cm, combining a solid butter-yellow stripe with coral-red borders and pale aqua floral trails on a warm ivory ground. Its colour palette feels sunny but softened, with the yellow staying mellow rather than harsh and the blue-green leaves adding a cool contrast. It is FR rated to BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1, and the fabric is machine washable at 30C with around 3% shrinkage noted.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a skirted armchair, bench cushion or dining seats where the vertical stripes can add lift and height. It works especially well with white-painted joinery, pale timber and quiet neutrals that let the butter yellow and aqua details stand out.

Pair with painted woods and soft neutrals to let the cheerful stripe stay fresh rather than busy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
