Woven in a 44% wool, 28% cotton, 19% linen and 9% polyamide blend, Mateus Clay has the gentle handle and natural depth you’d expect from a cloth with this much fibre variation. The swatch reads as a warm cream with a subtle beige cast, and the fine weave gives it a smooth, matte look rather than a heavy surface effect. With an approximate width of 133cm and a vertical/horizontal repeat of 0cm, it presents as a plain fabric that is easy to use across tailored upholstery or neat window dressing. The colour feels light and refined, sitting somewhere between linen white and soft clay, which helps it stay bright without looking stark.
