About this fabric
Woven from 44% wool, 28% cotton, 19% linen and 9% polyamide, Mateus Linen has the natural look of a linen blend with a slightly fuller, more resilient handle. The repeat is vertical 0cm / horizontal 0cm approx, confirming a plain cloth rather than a patterned design, and the 133cm approx width makes it straightforward for upholstery or window use. In this colourway the surface sits between beige and taupe, with a warm, earthy cast that softens the room rather than sharpening it. The small flecked texture gives it quiet depth and helps the shade stay interesting in changing light. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this fabric.
How to use it
This muted taupe works well on tailored seating, where its soft warmth can sit alongside oak, walnut or dark bronze details. It also makes a calm curtain or blind fabric when you want texture without introducing a strong colour statement.
A grounded neutral that works across upholstery and curtains for a calm, tailored interior.

Pairs well with
Mateus Linen is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
