Tokyo Taupe

Tokyo FabricL9440-18

Tokyo Taupe is a quietly textured neutral with a soft woven surface and a warm, muted taupe tone. Its gentle linen-like slub gives the colour a lifted, natural depth rather than a flat beige finish.

About this fabric

Woven with a subtle crosshatch effect, Tokyo Taupe has the calm, understated look of a plain fabric seen up close rather than a bold pattern. The 46% cotton, 29% viscose, 14% linen and 11% polyester composition gives it a slightly dry, tactile handle and a refined matte sheen in the light. At approximately 147cm wide, it is a practical furnishing cloth with repeat V 0cm / H 0cm approx, making it straightforward to cut and use. The taupe shade sits between beige and grey, reading warm and soft with just enough depth to avoid looking washed out.

How to use it

This warm taupe works beautifully on upholstered dining chairs, banquettes or a pared-back sofa where the texture can do the talking. Pair it with oak, chalky whites and darker bronze accents to bring out its soft, smart neutrality.

An easy neutral with enough texture to suit tailored upholstery or relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
