About this fabric

This 100% polyester velvet has a densely mottled, painterly surface, with broken floral-like marks layered through charcoal, smoky taupe, muted mauve, olive and small pale highlights. At 138cm wide, it is sized for domestic upholstery, while the velvet pile gives the dark ground a softly light-catching depth. Machine-washable aftercare adds practical detail, and the supplied flame-retardancy specification is Domestic Cig & Match. The cool purple-grey notes temper the olive and ochre flecks, creating a shadowy, sophisticated colourway rather than a bright multicoloured effect.

How to use it

Use this charcoal-led colourway on a statement sofa, armchair or footstool, pairing its mauve, olive and taupe flecks with warm grey, aged brass or deep wood tones.

Use this dark charcoal velvet on a statement chair or sofa, balancing its mauve, olive and taupe flecks with quiet neutral furnishings.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
