Kensington Navy

Brodsworth Fabric

Kensington Navy is a deep, almost blackened navy with a quiet, low-sheen surface. The plain texture gives it a smooth, understated look that feels refined rather than bright.

About this fabric

This colourway reads as a very dark navy with cool undertones, where the surface shifts subtly between charcoal-blue and midnight blue depending on the light. The fabric is 100% polyester and comes 140cm wide, with no pattern repeat, making it an easy choice for clean-cut upholstery or simple window treatments. Its fine horizontal texture is visible close up, giving the plain ground just enough movement to keep the shade from looking flat. The overall effect is smart and restrained, with a depth that suits darker interiors and tailored schemes.

How to use it

Use this navy to ground a room with pale oak, warm white or brushed brass, where the dark tone adds contrast without feeling harsh. It also works well on statement seating or lined curtains when you want a deep, architectural finish.

A dark, versatile navy that works neatly on both upholstery and curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
