Symington Soft Red presents delicate vertical floral stripes in a muted, warm red over a pale ivory ground. The narrow stems and leafy motifs create a softly lined appearance, with the red detail remaining gentle rather than saturated.

About this fabric

Made from 100% cotton, this fabric is 137 cm (53.82") wide and has a 25 cm (9.82") vertical pattern repeat with a 19.5 cm (7.66") horizontal repeat. In the swatch, fine red botanical sprigs run in closely spaced vertical bands against a creamy ivory background, giving the design a light, orderly rhythm. The soft red has a dusty, slightly rosy quality that feels quieter than a bright scarlet and allows the pale ground to remain prominent. Its listed uses include curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads.

How to use it

Use the warm ivory-and-soft-red balance for relaxed traditional curtains or a skirted chair, where the vertical stripe can emphasise height without overwhelming the room. It also suits a bedspread or upholstered headboard paired with natural linen and warm timber.
