Queen's Damask Old Red
Royal Court FabricBP11101.4
Queen's Damask Old Red pairs a softly faded red ground with a finely drawn, symmetrical damask of scrolling leaves, floral forms and small ornamental medallions. The close tonal relationship between the muted red and warm beige pattern gives the swatch a quietly aged, textural appearance.

About this fabric
Woven in 82% viscose and 18% linen, this 137 cm-wide fabric has a repeating damask arrangement with a 67 cm vertical repeat and a 34.25 cm horizontal repeat. Its Old Red colour reads as warm and dusty rather than bright, with beige-gold detailing that gently emerges across the surface. The fine woven texture and restrained contrast allow the ornate pattern to feel layered without becoming visually harsh. It is suitable for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads; after care is professional dry cleaning only, with no washing, bleaching or ironing.
How to use it
Use the softened red as an accent on a traditional armchair or headboard, then repeat its warm beige detailing in plain curtains, painted walls or tailored cushions. It also works as a full-length curtain fabric where the low-contrast damask can read as an elegant, softly antique backdrop.
Use this warm, faded red damask to bring period character to upholstered seating, curtains or a bedspread.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Queen's Damask Old Red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
