About this fabric

This 582gsm velvet has a dense, substantial handle suited to upholstery, while its 65 threads per cm support the close, textured appearance visible in the swatch. The anthracite colour sits between deep charcoal and black, with faint tonal variation rather than a flat, uniform finish. Its broken linear motif creates an abstract, weathered effect, formed from overlapping bands and softly rubbed-looking areas. The pattern repeats every 17.7cm vertically and 35cm horizontally across the 141.5cm usable width.

How to use it

Use this cool, almost-black anthracite on a tailored sofa, occasional chair or headboard where its low-key sheen can catch changing light. Pair it with pale stone, smoked timber or aged metal to bring definition to the deep charcoal tone.

A weighty anthracite velvet with a shadowy, distressed texture for structured upholstery and statement seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ikko Velvet Anthracite without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
