Derain Spice/Cornflower

Zamora Weaves FabricHAF0664-03

Derain Spice/Cornflower has a warm, russet-spice ground animated by broken terracotta, cream and cool cornflower-blue marks. Its dense, tactile surface gives the colourway a layered, softly mottled appearance rather than a flat solid finish.

About this fabric

This heavy woven fabric weighs 783gsm and has a 141cm usable width, making it particularly well suited to upholstery. Irregular horizontal motifs repeat every 25cm vertically and 34cm horizontally, creating a compact, gently rhythmic pattern across the cloth. The rust and cinnamon tones give the design depth, while scattered blue-grey and pale blue threads add a cooler glint where the light catches the textured weave. With 108 threads per centimetre, the surface reads as dense and richly constructed.

How to use it

Use Derain Spice/Cornflower on a statement armchair, sofa or dining seat where its warm terracotta depth can anchor the room. Echo the cooler cornflower flecks with muted blue cushions, ceramics or painted cabinetry, and keep surrounding finishes softly neutral to let the woven pattern remain the focus.

Use this richly textured rust-and-blue weave to bring warmth and visual depth to upholstered seating, with blue-grey accents picked up in cushions or painted furniture.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Derain Spice/Cornflower without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
