Portland Vermont Mulberry Flat

SS22 Images - Enchanted Garden, Geometrica, Water Meadow & Portland Fabric

Portland Vermont Mulberry Flat shows a crisp vertical stripe in soft mulberry against a pale ivory ground. The narrow, evenly spaced lines give it a tailored look with a gentle berry warmth.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% cotton, this Portland colourway has a clean, breathable handle and a classic striped rhythm. The 137cm usable width and 35cm horizontal pattern repeat make it suitable for measured cutting, while the 30,000 Martindale rub test and Heavy Domestic rating support upholstery use as well as drapery and accessories. Visually, the mulberry stripe reads as muted rather than bright, so the design feels refined and slightly vintage rather than bold. It is also treatable for FR drapery and upholstery, adding practicality to the smart, tidy finish.

How to use it

Use it on an occasional chair, bench or ottoman to introduce a restrained berry accent, or make it up into curtains for a crisp, country-house feel. The pale ground keeps the mulberry stripe light enough to sit well with oak, painted woods and warm neutrals.

A neat pinstripe with a warm berry note, ideal for tailored schemes that need a little colour without feeling loud.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
