Maharishi Tapestry Wavy

SS23 Images - Babooshka Fabric

This colourway is all about warmth: a saffron-gold ground printed with a winding floral trail in red, green, blue and soft blush tones. The pattern reads ornate and lively, with the fabric’s cotton surface giving it a crisp, tactile look.

About this fabric

Maharishi Tapestry Wavy from the SS23 Images - Babooshka collection is a 100% cotton fabric with a usable width of 137cm and a 20,000 Martindale rating, making it suitable for general domestic upholstery as well as drapery and accessories. The visible design shows a warm golden base threaded with sinuous vine-like stems and stylised leaves and flowers in coral, brick red, moss green, denim blue and pale cream. Its surface looks smooth and neatly woven rather than heavy, so the print stands out clearly and the folds catch the light with a soft sheen. It is treatable for FR drapery and upholstery, and the 17cm horizontal and 16cm vertical repeats help preserve the rhythm of the motif across larger pieces.

How to use it

Use this saffron-toned design to bring brightness to a statement chair, ottoman or feature curtains where the red and blue details can be picked up in cushions and trims. It works especially well with walnut, aged brass and deep green accents for a layered, collected feel.

A rich saffron ground with vivid trail flowers brings warmth and energy to upholstered pieces or elegant curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Maharishi Tapestry Wavy without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
