Inchcolm Abbey Fabric

Montrose Melton Mocha is a deep, warm brown textile with the quietly variegated appearance of melton. Its close-up surface reads as dense and softly brushed, with a restrained low sheen.

About this fabric

The colour sits between dark chocolate and earthy coffee, with subtle charcoal-brown flecks that prevent the surface from appearing flat. Its compact, felt-like texture is visible across the swatch, giving the fabric a substantial visual weight suited to upholstery. Light catches the raised fibres gently rather than creating a pronounced shine, keeping this mocha colourway calm, grounded and understated.

How to use it

Use this warm mocha brown on a reading chair, sofa or footstool where its dark, softly textured surface can anchor creams, muted greens and aged timber. It also works well as a tonal counterpoint to lighter natural fabrics.

A deep, softly mottled mocha with a dense melton-like surface for grounded upholstery schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
