About this fabric

The cloth shows a dark charcoal-grey ground threaded with muted rosehip red, creating a cool, low-light base rather than a bright red field. An ornate, symmetrical damask-like motif spreads across the face, with scrolling and floral forms picked out in dusty red, grey and pale flecks. Close up, the tightly built weave gives the pattern a softly irregular, tactile edge and catches light in fine diagonal threads. No composition, width or rub-test information has been supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Inchcolm Rosehip on a statement armchair, dining seat or headboard where its deep charcoal base can balance warm timber and aged brass. Keep surrounding textiles quiet so the muted red scrollwork supplies the room’s colour and pattern.

Use this richly patterned rosehip-and-charcoal weave to bring depth to traditional upholstery and occasional chairs.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Inchcolm Rosehip without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
