Bluebell & Peony Embroidery Russet/Forest

The Unfinished Works Fabrics FabricMOF0244-01

Bluebell & Peony Embroidery Russet/Forest sets curling floral bands and slender leafy stripes against a warm ivory ground. The russet flowers give the colourway a softly autumnal depth, while forest-green foliage and cool grey-blue lines keep the vertical layout defined.

About this fabric

This Morris & Co. fabric has a 135 cm usable width and a 75.1 cm vertical pattern repeat with a 44.8 cm horizontal repeat. Its 415 gsm weight gives the cloth a substantial handle suited to upholstery, while the 47.2 threads-per-cm construction supports the detailed appearance of the design. In the swatch, russet and terracotta-toned blooms sit among forest-green leaves and curling stems, separated by narrow grey-blue and warm red lines on an ivory base. The repeated floral columns create a measured stripe, with the embroidered-looking motifs providing more visual richness than the fine linear bands.

How to use it

Use this warm russet-and-forest colourway on a statement armchair, headboard or dining seat, pairing it with aged timber, ivory paint and restrained green or rust accents. The vertical stripes can also give a tailored rhythm to a traditionally shaped upholstered piece.

A substantial striped floral embroidery for upholstered pieces where its russet blooms and forest foliage can be read at close range.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
