Charlton Check Spice

Charlton Check Spice combines warm oat and sand grounds with brick-spice, olive and pale yellow check bands. Its woven patchwork layout has a measured, textural character, with the darker stripes giving the colourway added depth.

About this fabric

The close-up shows alternating blocks, narrow stripe groupings and subtle tonal variation rather than a flat printed surface. It is made from 57% viscose, 30% linen and 13% polyester, at 140 cm (55") wide. The pattern has a 29.5 cm (11.59") vertical repeat and a 70 cm (27.5") horizontal repeat. With a 23,000 Martindale rub test and stated use for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, it can move between soft furnishings and seating.

How to use it

Use the warm spice and oat balance to add depth to a relaxed sitting room, pairing it with aged timber, natural linen and muted olive accents. The medium-scale check also suits a tailored upholstered chair, bench or upholstered headboard where the repeating bands can be clearly appreciated.
