Charlton Check Red/Green combines muted brick red and olive-green blocks with a warm cream ground. Its tightly organised check has a softly irregular woven character rather than a stark printed finish.

About this fabric

The medium-scale geometric grid is built from alternating cream, red and olive-green rectangles, with the earthy red giving the colourway warmth and the green adding a cooler, grounded note. Woven from 57% viscose, 30% linen and 13% polyester, the 140 cm-wide fabric has a 29.5 cm vertical repeat and a 70 cm horizontal repeat. It is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads, with a 23,000 Martindale rub test. Care is professional dry cleaning only: do not wash, bleach or iron.

How to use it

Use this warm red-and-olive check on a reading chair, loose-covered sofa or upholstered headboard, then echo the cream ground with natural linen and pale timber. Its muted contrast also makes it effective as full-length curtains in a relaxed, layered room.
