Lindisfarne Plaid Red/Teal

Mulberry Wools V FabricFD838.V87

Lindisfarne Plaid Red/Teal combines softened brick red with cool teal, blue-green and earthy brown lines in a closely layered check. The woven surface gives the swatch a tactile, slightly weathered depth rather than a flat printed appearance.

About this fabric

This 100% wool fabric is woven as a medium-scale plaid, with a 28cm vertical repeat and 25cm horizontal repeat. The red ground reads muted and warm, while teal and blue-green stripes bring a cooler counterpoint; fine tan and darker brown lines add definition where the colours intersect. At 150cm wide, it is specified for curtains, loose upholstery, fixed upholstery and bedspreads. Its 63,000 Wyzenbeek Cotton Duck rub test supports its use on seating, subject to the stated care requirements: professional dry cleaning only, with no washing, bleaching or ironing.

How to use it

Use the red-and-teal balance to bring tailored colour to a reading chair, ottoman or loose-covered sofa, then repeat the cooler teal notes in cushions or painted joinery. As curtains or a bedspread, the softened plaid adds a quietly heritage character without becoming overly bright.

A substantial wool plaid with a weathered red-and-teal palette, suited to upholstery, curtains and bedspreads.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
