Balaya blue

European Summer Fabricbalaya/fa1/cob

Balaya Blue has a cool, watery look, with painterly blue forms drifting across a pale sky-blue ground. The effect is light and airy, with enough movement to keep the fabric feeling lively.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% cotton, this fabric has a natural matt finish that suits the soft, brushed look of the design. The abstract motif repeats on a 22.83 cm horizontal and vertical repeat, and the 140 cm width makes it practical for a range of soft-furnishing projects. The palette is distinctly cool: pale powder blue is layered with deeper denim and slate blue accents, giving the pattern depth without losing its fresh feel. Dry clean only care and iron-safe handling make it straightforward to specify for refined interiors.

How to use it

Use it for relaxed curtains, cushions, or light upholstery where the pale blue ground can lift the room. It works especially well with white-painted joinery, bleached timber, and soft grey-blue accents.

Pair with pale oak and crisp whites for a fresh, coastal feel.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
