Hawick blue

Ettrick Fabrichawick/fa1/blu

Hawick Blue presents a painterly trail of small blue blooms and leafy stems across a pale ground. The colourway feels fresh and softly muted, with the blue petals sitting lightly above the sage foliage.

About this fabric

Ettrick in Hawick Blue is composed of 95% Cotton and 5% Linen, with a usable width of 138cm and a fabric width of 145cm. At 230gsm, it has enough substance for curtains, blinds and soft furnishings while still reading as a relaxed decorative cloth. The pattern repeat is 15.3cm horizontally and 29.8cm vertically, which suits the repeating climbing floral stems shown in the image. This colourway combines gentle cornflower and denim-blue petals with fresh green leaves on an off-white ground, giving the design a cool, airy character rather than a deep or saturated one. Dry clean only; cool iron.

How to use it

Use Hawick Blue in rooms that need a light, botanical note without strong contrast. It works especially well with white-painted joinery, oak, and soft grey upholstery to keep the blue tone crisp.

Pair with pale woods and crisp neutrals to let the painted blue florals stay fresh and airy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
