About this fabric

This Sanderson fabric is supplied with a usable width of 141 cm and a substantial 252 gsm weight, making it a practical decorative textile for larger-scale schemes. The visible ground reads as a gentle cream rather than a stark white, which allows the blue birds, green stems and pale yellow flowers to stand out cleanly. The design’s large 62 cm vertical repeat and 70 cm horizontal repeat suit the open, illustrative composition seen here, with kingfishers and meadow stems spaced across the cloth. The weave appears smooth and tightly set, with 38 threads per cm supporting the crisp detail in the plumage and botanical forms.

How to use it

The cool blue birds and fresh green stems work especially well in rooms that need colour without darkness, such as a light sitting room or garden-facing space. Pair the cream base with painted woodwork, pale oak and accents of soft blue or moss green to echo the pattern.

Use where a bright cream ground and jewel-toned birds will lift a room without feeling heavy.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
