About this colour

This shade sits between old rose and terracotta red, with enough brown in it to stop it reading pink. On a wall it feels warm and settled, and the #A7565D value gives it a medium depth that absorbs more light than it reflects. In a north-facing room it can lean slightly quieter and more muted, showing its earthy side. In south light it becomes richer and more rounded, with the red tone coming forward. Active Emulsion and Waterbased Eggshell both suit it well, whether you want it on walls or on painted woodwork.

How to use it

Carmen Light works well in a sitting room, dining room, or on joinery where a warmer red is wanted without harshness. It sits comfortably beside natural oak, walnut, cream upholstery, and linen in oat or stone tones.
