About this fabric
Woven for upholstery, Chicago Sable combines 57% viscose, 23% polyester, 14% cotton and 6% linen in a fabric that feels substantial and refined. The 137 cm width and 30,000 Martindale rub test make it suitable for everyday seating, while the 9 cm horizontal and vertical repeat keeps the chevron geometry crisp and regular. In this colourway, the brown ground is softened by lighter speckled yarns, giving the pattern a dry, tactile look rather than a glossy finish. The overall effect is smart and understated, with enough contrast to show the motif clearly but not so much that it becomes harsh.
How to use it
Use Chicago Sable on a sofa, tub chair or banquette where its brown-on-brown texture can warm up walnut, oak and painted timber. It works especially well with natural linens, leather and muted metal finishes.
